Sustainable hardware sourcing – Introducing Bechtle CO₂‑Conscious IT.
With its new Bechtle CO₂‑Conscious IT offering, Bechtle helps customers offset the CO₂ emissions generated during the production and delivery of purchased IT hardware. Bechtle calculates the associated emissions and makes them transparent for customers, supporting climate‑aware procurement and reinforcing Bechtle’s sustainable product portfolio.
How does CO₂ offsetting work?
Offsetting takes place through selected nature‑based climate‑action projects, in partnership with the Berlin‑based company goodcarbon. These projects are assessed using a Nature Analytics Framework that ensures credible climate impact, biodiversity protection and social benefits.
Which emissions can be offset?
The service primarily covers Scope 3 emissions from the upstream value chain, i.e. emissions generated during the production and transport of purchased hardware. For many companies, these account for a significant share of their overall footprint.
With our new offsetting solution, we help customers achieve their climate targets in a credible and clearly documented way.

How do businesses benefit?
Companies receive a clear view of their CO₂ footprint, can account for unavoidable emissions in their GHG‑compliant reporting, and can credibly advance their climate strategy and SBTi‑aligned beyond‑value‑chain mitigation measures.
