Digital future.

Our vision.
We shape a sustainable digital future. We drive future-facing digitalisation and contribute to our customers’ success through sustainable innovation.

Sustainable digitalisation sharpens our competitive edge while helping our customers achieve their climate and transformation goals. Our IT department has established sustainability standards for Bechtle’s own IT infrastructure, streamlined processes and improved energy efficiency—reducing CO₂ emissions. In addition, information security and data protection are integral to digitalisation and remain key priorities for Bechtle and our customers.

Our focal points within this action area are:

  • Sustainable in-house digitalisation
  • Sustainable technologies, solutions and services
  • Information security and data protection
Social Development Goal.

The following UN SDG applies to our action areas for a digital future:

Eight criteria for responsible IT procurement.

Number One

Use of recycled plastics or raw materials such as aluminium.

Number Two

The smaller, the better: A product’s carbon footprint reflects resource consumption from raw‑material extraction through production, transport, use and disposal.

Number Three

Certifications such as ENERGY STAR, EU Energy Label or TCO Certified provide insights into energy efficiency and consumption.

Number Four

Repairable IT hardware lasts longer: Key factors include easy access to components; replaceable (non-glued) parts such as batteries, memory modules or hard drives; and availability of spare parts and repair guides.

Number Five
  • Long-term manufacturer support and software updates helps keep devices usable for longer.
  • Durable materials such as robust housings or high-quality electronic components pay off.
Number Six
  • No raw materials from conflict zones.
  • Fair wages, good working conditions and respect for human rights throughout the supply chain. Labels like TCO Certified and manufacturer disclosures provide transparency.
Number Seven
  • Design for recycling: Products that can be easily dismantled allow valuable raw materials to be recovered.
  • Avoidance of e-waste through reuse—for example, via Bechtle Circular IT.
Number Eight
  • Recycled and recyclable packaging materials, FSC-certified cardboard or the Bechtle Box©.
  • Compact packaging saves space, allowing more parcels per lorry.

For Bechtle, sustainability also means digital responsibility. Protecting data, systems and information is a core element of our sustainability efforts. Only by safeguarding data and maintaining system stability can we create the foundation for long-term, responsible business operations.

Information security begins within our own organisation. Through a group-wide Information Security Management System (ISMS) and regular ISO 27001 certification of selected companies, Bechtle continuously reviews and strengthens its security standards.

Bechtle cybersecurity.

As a comprehensive enterprise security provider, Bechtle offers an end-to-end portfolio—covering prevention, detection, response, emergency planning and recovery. With around 600 specialists in the Bechtle Security Community, we help organisations strengthen digital resilience and achieve lasting reductions in cyber risk.
