Bechtle-Comsoft wins Fraunhofer framework agreement.
Bechtle‑Comsoft, which specialises in software and licence management, has been selected by Fraunhofer‑Gesellschaft as a framework partner for Microsoft software licensing. The agreement will initially run for three years, with the option of two additional one‑year extensions, and has a potential value of up to €124.6 million. The agreement allows 74 Fraunhofer institutes and independent research organisations across Germany, representing around 30,000 employees, to source Microsoft licences.
Fraunhofer – a non-profit institution and one of Germany’s largest non-university research organisations – plays a leading role in applied research and innovation. For many years, its institutes and facilities have relied on Microsoft software across a wide range of activities. As its new framework partner, Bechtle‑Comsoft will support the organisation with compliant, fit‑for‑purpose Microsoft licensing. The agreement covers both cloud‑based productivity solutions such as Microsoft 365 and licences for on‑premise infrastructure, including server, intranet and database systems operated and maintained by the institutes.
Fraunhofer is a flagship organisation in Germany’s research landscape, and we are delighted to be supporting it with our expertise. Our many years of experience in Microsoft licensing help ensure that the licensing options available for research and education are used to best effect.
