Neckarsulm/Munich, 12 June 2014 – Bechtle and Atlantis Computing are strengthening their partnership, founded in 2013, through a strategic plan that includes extensive product training for Bechtle employees. At-lantis’ ILIO USX software provides Bechtle customers with an in-memory storage solution that exploits their existing resources, boosting data centre performance by 500 per cent at half the RAM costs. Based on fourth-generation VDI optimisation technology, the solution ideally complements the products of leading virtualisation providers, such as Citrix, Microsoft and VMware. Headquartered in the Silicon Valley city of Mountain View, Atlantis Computing is represented in Europe by its offices in London and Munich.
ILIO USX helps companies master the challenges of performance-intensive applications by using server-side RAM for important corporate data. Its target customers are VDI, XenApp or vSphere users with a growing need for additional storage and performance capacity. Atlantis Computing claims that ILIO USX lowers RAM costs by up to 50 per cent when compared to the cost of purchasing new hardware.
Using RAM for Virtualised Storage.
In the last few years, Atlantis Computing has become known for its virtual enterprise desktops solutions. Its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) software uses existing system RAM to optimise desktop performance and save on expensive solid-state drives (SSDs). “Our experience has shown Atlantis to be a reliable, fast-growing partner with strong ties to our virtualisation partners Citrix, Microsoft and VMware. This played an important role in our decision to expand our strategic partnership, along with our customers’ steadily growing need for more memory. Atlantis Computing addresses this need with outstanding solutions. We’ve already planned additional joint customer projects for this year,” commented Roland König, head of the virtualisation division at Bechtle.
Promising Growth Potential.
Atlantis Computing is growing at an astounding rate, tripling the size of its Eu-ropean customer base in the past twelve months. Founded in 2006, the company shipped its first products in 2009 and now employs over 200 people worldwide. “We sell our solutions through select partners on the market, which is why we’re pleased to have such a successful and strategically important partner as Bechtle. Our software doesn’t address just VDI and XenApp users, but rather anyone who uses virtualised servers. We therefore rely on experienced partners like Bechtle, who have a large customer network and extensive virtualisation expertise. Customers can expect to save around 50 per cent with ILIO USX when compared to the cost of buying new hardware. This development will have a similar impact on the market as the introduction of server virtualisation did a few years ago,” explained Dominic Morano, Channel Manager Central Europe at Atlantis Computing. As part of the strategic partnership, Atlantis will provide Bechtle employees with special software training to ensure exclusive product expertise. The first round of training will benefit some thirty selected sales personnel and technicians.
