Neckarsulm, 2 October 2014 – On 25 and 26 September, the Bechtle Group showcased its expertise in software solutions at two in-house exhibitions. While the first Bechtle Software Day put a focus on such IT trends as cloud computing, mobility and security, the group’s CAD specialists SolidLine AG and Solidpro GmbH have grown their Experience Days, which were first established in 2013, into a two-day conference on current software solutions for product development. More than 500 visitors took advantage of the opportunity to learn about the latest products and meet with vendors and other users at Bechtle’s headquarters in Neckarsulm.
The first ever Bechtle Software Day on 25 September offered a comprehensive overview of current solutions for efficient business processes and IT management. Throughout the day, customers were invited to expert presentations, and an in-house trade fair at which partnering vendors showed their latest products for cloud computing, mobility, IT security, and other areas. “Our concept to present the Bechtle Group’s capabilities as a supplier of multi-vendor solutions against the backdrop of some select focus topics was a huge success,” says Norbert Franchi, head of Bechtle’s software division and managing director of SolidLine AG. “The Software Day saw more than 150 visitors discuss and learn about all the key issues that IT managers have to deal with today. And, starting on the same day, the Experience Days allowed them to gain some fascinating insights into the world of IT-driven product development.
Continuation of a successful event.
The continuation of SolidLine’s and Solidpro’s joint event was held on 25 and 26 September at Bechtle’s headquarters in Neckarsulm, now dubbed Experience Days to account for the substantial expansion of the event’s agenda. Just like last year, software vendor Dassault Systèmes SOLID-WORKS’ solutions were in the limelight of the event that was attended by 350 people. “Once again, we have received great feedback from our cus-tomers, and we were particularly pleased to welcome Ken Clayton to the event, SOLIDWORKS’ vice president, worldwide sales,” says Werner Meiser, managing director of Solidpro GmbH. More than 50 expert presen-tations by vendors and users outlined SOLIDWORKS’ current product portfolio. Especially the world’s first customer presentation of new features of the upcoming SOLIDWORKS 2015 was very well attended. A live demonstration of the world’s biggest mass-produced 3D printer with FFF technology (Fused Filament Fabrication), the congenial performance of robot NAO, and a talk on the space robot that was modelled after a praying mantis by presenter Marc Manz of the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) made for a memorable experience.
