Challenge.

ystral wanted to centralise device management for all locations and make its global IT even more secure. The company planned to make more intensive use of the Microsoft 365 already in use, exploit all of the platform's possibilities and effectively protect devices such as mobile phones. With the new, secure structure, ystral can react flexibly to future requirements and continue to grow. The company also attached great importance to ensuring that all employees actively support the migration to the cloud.

We are delighted with how the project went. The workshop on conditional access in particular helped us a lot, because Bechtle took us by the hand and showed us what rules we had to set up. The independence from our previous IT structure brought many advantages: With Bechtle, we have created the basis for our own Microsoft 365 Journey. In the protected area, we can now fully utilise all the tools of the M365 platform. We have not only developed efficient IT management, but have also gained a deeper understanding of the possibilities of the Microsoft platform.

Solution.

Together with Bechtle, ystral first analysed all the devices in use and developed a concept with clear recommendations for action. The migration to Microsoft Intune proved to be the best solution. With Bechtle's support, ystral migrated all devices to this platform in order to manage them centrally and standardise operations worldwide. To this end, 300 M365-E3 licences were installed. The partners also developed and successfully implemented security guidelines such as conditional access in workshops. For locations in countries such as China, Bechtle developed a solution in which pre-generated tokens enable secure commissioning of the devices - without additional effort on site.

Bechtle also integrated Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to provide comprehensive protection for all end devices. The team also optimised the existing Microsoft 365 tenant in a targeted manner so that ystral can now use the platform to its full extent. Training courses and workshops helped employees to understand and actively utilise the working methods in the cloud. The result is a flexible and future-proof IT infrastructure that supports ystral's growth and significantly improves IT protection.
