Poly | Beat the noise
HP | Poly Logo

Whether you work in the office or remotely, in the age of hybrid work, it is particularly important that communication between employees or with customers is simple, accessible and clear. The ability to be clearly heard and seen on both sides of a call makes collaboration more effective and ensures a better experience for everyone involved. This is exactly what Poly's solutions offer.

New – Voyager Legend 50.

Your voice takes centre stage.
Are you calling from a crowded café or a busy airport lounge? Background noise won't disrupt your communication - with an aerodynamic headband and four noise-cancelling microphones, you can make sure your voice is always heard clearly.

Powerful, AI-powered noise cancellation.
Background noise? Not on your calls. Poly NoiseBlockAI technology uses machine learning to recognise and block out background noise so you can enjoy clear calls that focus on your voice.

Answer calls anywhere.
Unique six-level WindSmart technology recognises wind direction and responds accordingly so your voice is always clear, especially outdoors.

To ensure that background noise is not picked up by the headset microphone, which could interrupt the call, many Poly headsets include noise cancelling microphone booms. These booms include a special directional microphone with two connections that picks up sound in a specific pattern that is focused towards the user’s mouth. Sounds that come from all directions, such as background noise, are picked up with less amplitude and therefore are heard at a reduced level at the other end.

POLY ACOUSTIC FENCE TECHNOLOGY
Poly acoustic fence technology

Transmission noise reduction can be enhanced when additional, physically separated microphones are added, such as those on Poly headsets with Acoustic Fence technology.

Single additional microphone – Poly’s Acoustic Fence technology, as found in the Blackwire 8225, uses a long noise cancelling microphone boom with an additional microphone located on the ear cup. This additional microphone picks up the background noise and using DSP, this is filtered from the user’s voice.

Multiple additional microphones – The Voyager Focus 2 provides even greater transmit noise reduction despite its shorter microphone boom. In this implementation, Poly’s Acoustic Fence technology uses four microphones in total—two microphones on the boom and one on each ear cup—to create a virtual pick up bubble focused at the front of the user’s mouth. Anything outside of this bubble (typically noise) is ignored.

BOOMLESS DESIGN NOISE CANCELLING

For products without a microphone boom such as the Voyager Free 60 UC and the Voyager Surround 80 UC, four microphones are used along with beam-forming technology to focus on the user’s voice while minimising background noise.

POLY WINDSMART TECHNOLOGY
Poly windsmart technology

Poly’s proprietary WindSmart technology has been developed for wireless headsets to reduce disruptive wind noise when on a call outdoors. It does so by leveraging advanced algorithms and a microphone design that suppresses the wind noise to ensure your voice comes through clearly. WindSmart technology helps to optimise voice clarity and the user experience especially on breezy days.

ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING
Hybrid active noise cancelling

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) is a technology used in headphones, earphones and other audio devices to minimise unwanted ambient noise. Built-in microphones capture external sounds and generate an anti-noise signal to suppress disruptive sounds and ensure a quieter and more intense audio experience.

at a glance:

Poly NoiseBlockAI.

Distracting noises during a call can disrupt concentration and distract from the conversation. Poly NoiseBlockAI uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to specifically recognise and block out such distracting noises. This means that only voices are transmitted during the call, which ensures clearer conversations and allows participants to focus on what is important.

Poly Acoustic Fence.

During meetings in busy environments or when travelling, background noise often interrupts the flow of conversation and can lead to misunderstandings.
Poly Acoustic Fence technology creates a defined audio zone in which only voices within this area are picked up. This effectively blocks out distracting external noises and conversations from people who are not involved - for undisturbed and focussed communication.

WindSmart Technologie.

Poly's WindSmart technology minimises wind noise that can occur in strong winds - up to a speed of 23 km/h. This is achieved by several coordinated components for wind noise suppression, including an aerodynamically shaped microphone boom, a precisely calibrated windscreen, insulated microphones and integrated rear silencers. The result: clear voice transmission - even in adverse weather conditions.

SoundGuard.

SoundGuard offers reliable protection against excessive volume by effectively limiting noise above 118 dBA. It recognises and suppresses sudden bursts of noise with integrated shock protection and uses TWA (Time Weighted Average) protection to ensure that the average noise exposure does not exceed 85 dBA. This ensures that hearing is permanently protected - even during long conversations or in noisy environments.
