DigitalPakt Schule 1.0 has come to an end, and the second version has not yet come into force. Nevertheless, it is already worth considering how your own school can benefit from it. This is because, despite funding, the level of digitisation in German schools varies greatly. While some already offer fully digitised lessons with 1:1 equipment, others are still struggling with functional Wi-Fi.

The Franz-Binder-Verbundschule in Neckarsulm is a good example of how to move forward. Since 2023/2024, there have been no more normal classes here. Learning takes place in open learning spaces. ‘The success of the children – that's our job,’ says headmistress Antje David, striking a chord.

In conversation with experts, the headmistress discusses what she will focus on in the next Digital Pact. Philipp Schied

Philipp Schied is a teacher at a secondary school and teaches German, social studies, Protestant religion and computer science. As a media literacy teacher, he and his team conducted over 500 training courses last year, training well over 15,000 teachers.
