More than twice as many visitors as the previous year
Bechtle presents full spectrum of services
Presentations very well attended
432 visitors turned up on the 12th of May 2011 for the second annual Bechtle 'mobile day' at Bechtle Platz 1 in Neckarsulm. A response which exceeded the expectations of organisers from Bechtle direct and the IT system house in Neckarsulm. The number of manufacturers presenting also rose from 18 in the previous year to 30. In addition, 21 technical presentations gave visitors the opportunity to learn about current developments, innovations and upcoming trends in mobile computing.
Neckarsulm, 16th of May 2011 – Bechtle 'mobile day', already established by its second year as an important event in mobile solutions, was soon booked up. "The response was overwhelming. Our concept, showing an interesting mix of current products and manufacturers' developments, in addition to Bechtle's spectrum of services, was well received. At 'mobile day' Bechtle is, so to speak, at your fingertips. As chief operating officer, I'm especially happy to see that, in addition to the product specialists from Bechtle direct, many colleagues from the Bechtle IT system houses also attended," says Jürgen Schäfer, COO IT e-commerce, Bechtle AG.
The event aims at practical communication of expert knowledge and makes it possible for customers to come into direct contact with manufacturers of mobile technology. "The possibility for personal exchange is of particular importance, especially in e-commerce. 'Mobile day' offers us ample opportunity for this. The more we know about the customers, the better we can adapt our services to their demands" explains Mario Düll, Managing Director of Bechtle direct Germany.
IT in transition.
30 partners joined Bechtle in presenting a broad spectrum of products and services. The range shown included mobile device management, 3D technology, slates and tablet PCs, as well as the latest Intel technologies. Technical presentations on current topics rounded out the programme. Visitors were particularly interested in presentations on the integration of iPads and smartphones in their business. Mike H. Cato of Intel emphasised the growing trend of today's society to demand immediate access to information—regardless of time and location: "The computing continuum connects the world. Users want to be able to access everything online, any time and anywhere. Businesses that strive to meet this demand will succeed in the long run," Intel's corporate communications manager predicted. In his presentation "Enterprise 2.0 - Social Media for Businesses," Danijel Stanic, systems engineer at the Bechtle IT system house in Neckarsulm, explained how businesses can make the social media trend work for them: "Businesses that network intelligently, and actively exchange ideas with experts and customers using social networks, can accelerate work flows and communications processes considerably."
Trade event for mobile trends.
As in the previous year, Alexandra Polzin of TV and event fame hosted 'mobile day'. An evening reception in the outdoor tent brought 'mobile day 2011' to a fitting close.
Mario Düll: "We've succeeded in creating a platform which, as a trade event for mobile work, brings customers, manufacturers, distributors and service providers together. Many of this year's visitors are already showing a great deal of interest in the continuation of 'mobile day' in 2012".
I joined Bechtle in July 2018 as a System Engineer and since then I have been able to gain experience in both deployment planning and administration. In my current position, my organisational talent and curiosity are an absolute asset. Through the newly acquired tasks of marketing and event management, I always try to keep in close contact with our initiators in order to work out ideas and current topics.

“Keep moving”—this could be the catchphrase of Diana Langer, who started at Bechtle over 21 years ago as the first dual student in Logistics & Service GmbH. Today, the enthusiastic endurance athlete is a member of the Executive Board of Bechtle E-Commerce Holding AG in Neckarsulm.
Alexander Schweitzer describes himself as a straightforward guy, and his career at Bechtle is a case in point. Ten years ago, his first day at Bechtle also happened to mark his first venture into IT. Fast-forward a decade, in 2021 he’s one of two managing directors of Bechtle direct. When you look closely, though, his trajectory didn’t always follow such a straight line. In fact, when he first joined Bechtle, it took a surprising turn.
