Neckarsulm, 07. June 2011 – Bechtle AG continues to grow and create new jobs. As of the beginning of the month, the IT corporation has more than 5,000 employees. Despite Germany's increasing shortage of skilled workers, Bechtle now has over 230 more employees than at the end of 2010. The increase is due to new hires as well as two 2011 acquisitions. The number of Bechtle's employees has doubled since 2003.
"Bechtle has made a name for itself as an attractive employer. Not only have our solidity and reliability been attested to, but also the very good career outlooks and opportunities for further qualification here. At the 5,000 employee mark we're celebrating what you could call a 'half time' on our way to Vision 2020 – when we expect to have 10,000 employees on board," says Dr. Thomas Olemotz, Chairman of the Executive Board of Bechtle AG.
Bechtle also wants to continue its growth this year by hiring more skilled employees, enabling currents employees to enhance their qualifications at the company's own Bechtle Academy, and through ongoing expansion of its trainee programme. "We've set ourselves the ambitious goal of increasing our training rate to 12% by 2012. That would be practically double the number from last year," says Dr. Thomas Olemotz. "We want to not only fulfil our societal responsibility as a company which provides professional training, but also to actively counteract the shortage of skilled labour." Bechtle is currently training 291 young people in 14 technical and commercial professions. They have excellent chances for long-term employment, since Bechtle hires nearly 100% of its trainees. The number of employees should continue to increase for the rest of the year. Over 350 open positions are currently listed on Bechtle's website.
