Users of iPads and iPhones can now find a Bechtle App in the iTunes App Store. The app offers a clearly structured selection from Bechtle’s portfolio, which includes some 44,000 IT products. Bechtle is one of the first IT companies to offer access to it’s online shop via an app.
Neckarsulm, 1 April 2011 – First published in 1991, the Bechtle IT catalogue has become a popular reference work offering a comprehensive overview of current products and a professional procurement tool. 20 years later – and 14 years after the first online order – the 700-page catalogue is now available as an app for iPads and iPhones. It's available as a free download from the iTunes App Store“In the mid-90s, Bechtle was pioneering e-commerce ground in Germany. It is just natural that we are now making this move towards m-commerce, introducing the possibilities of mobile shopping to our customers”, explains Jürgen Schäfer, COO IT e-commerce, Bechtle AG.
Users can simply browse the various product groups, see product features and place an order straight from their mobile device: “The app offers a clear overview of all products including images, features and detailed specifications”, says Martin Meyer, Bechtle’s head of e-procurement.
Full-text search allows the user to quickly navigate all product groups. They can zoom in on images, technical details, accessories and alternative products. Thanks to the interface with the online shop, all prices and availability details are always up to date. Push notification keeps the customers informed of new products and special offers. After its launch, the Bechtle app entered the top 15 business apps in the iTunes App Store almost immediately. Additional features are already in the pipeline.
