Neckarsulm/Bonn, 19 July 2013 – For the second time, the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has awarded Bechtle AG a frame-work agreement for the provisioning of IT equipment and services, enabling authorised entities to order contractual products and ser-vices effective immediately. The framework agreement, entitled “IT-Plattform - 2./3. Rechnerebene” and signed 8 May 2013, expires in 2017.
Bechtle has been providing the German Bundeswehr with information tech-nology since 2009 and will continue to do so for another four years. “We are proud that our bid was accepted once again and look forward to continuing our relationship with this customer. We consider this new contract to be a confirmation of Bechtle’s capabilities,” comments Gerhard Marz, head of the Public Sector Division at Bechtle AG. The contract covers PCs, moni-tors, printers and other peripherals as well as servers. In addition to supply-ing the equipment, Bechtle’s services will include planning, installing, de-ploying and operating IT networks (clients/servers).
As the primary contractor, Bechtle AG will fulfil the contract together with their long-time partners Acer, IBM and Lexmark, as well as service provider Conet Solutions. The Bundeswehr team at the Bechtle IT system house in Bonn will take over operative implementation and control, while Bechtle AG remains in charge of the project’s centralised organisation. Meanwhile, the Bechtle Group’s network of system houses stand ready to provide fast, on-site services for the Germany-wide Bundeswehr locations.
“Thanks to our well-established, customer-focused organisation and proven processes, we have what it takes to act quickly and flexibly in order to fulfil the Bundeswehr’s requirements. Our solution ideally links local proximity with central requirements,” states Jörg Terschüren, head of the Federal Projects Division at Bechtle AG.
