Neckarsulm, 2 November 2016 – Bechtle is acquiring C-CAM GmbH in Chemnitz, Germany, a move that will further bolster its business in design applications for the manufacturing industry. C-CAM, which currently has 20 employees, specialises in CAD, CAM and PDM software. It will continue operating under the C-CAM name as a subsidiary of SolidLine AG, which itself joined the Bechtle Group in 2011. The acquisition will reinforce SolidLine’s presence in the eastern part of Germany. Christian Popp, who has led C-CAM up until now, will remain the company’s managing director. Both parties to the transaction have agreed to keep the acquisition price confidential.
Founded in 1997, C-CAM GmbH is the most successful independent SOLIDWORKS reseller in eastern Germany. It offers a comprehensive range of services for SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD solutions and Edgecam, a CAM software. Although C-CAM serves primarily manufacturing firms in the German states of Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, it also maintains long-term ties with customers throughout the country. “We’re very excited to have brought such an experienced specialist on board. The C-CAM team has earned an excellent reputation as a strong solutions partner for mid-sized industrial firms. Located at ITC, an industrial estate in Chemnitz, C-CAM GmbH offers state-of-the-art user-training facilities as well as its own CNC laboratory. In 2015, C-CAM was recognised by vendor partner Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS for achieving the highest customer satisfaction in central Europe.
