Neckarsulm, 13 July 2017 – Bechtle AG has been honoured with the Bosch Global Supplier Award from Robert Bosch GmbH. Germany’s largest independent IT systems integrator received the award in the category ‘Indirect Purchasing of Hardware, Software and Services’. The awards ceremony, held under the motto ‘Partners in Success’, marked the fifteenth time Bosch has honoured outstanding achievements in the manufacturing and supply of products and services, with a focus on quality, costs, innovation, and logistics. Dr Volkmar Denner, chairman of the Bosch board of management: “In the connected world, partnerships are becoming more and more important. Hierarchical value chains are turning into value-added networks. With our open platform technologies, we are in an ideal position to seize the opportunities offered by digitalisation in our partner networks; for example, exchanging Industry 4.0 data using the Production Performance Management Protocol.” Bosch sources products and services from thousands of suppliers.
Bechtle has provided IT hardware and services to Bosch sites across Europe since the year 2000, and has been a Preferred Supplier for Bosch since 2010. The relationship is notable for the high level of digitalisation in the procurement chain, as well as the various country-specific portfolios for the entire Bosch Group.
Some 100 representatives of the supply industry came together for the ceremony at the Goldbergwerk conference centre in Fellbach, Germany. Dr Karl Nowak, president of the Bosch corporate sector for purchasing and logistics, and Jan Saggau, his deputy, presented the award to Bechtle’s Alfred Neidhard, Executive Vice President, Southern Region, and Alexander Hofmann, Managing Director of the Bechtle branch in Rottenburg. “Bosch’s success is based in no small part on competitiveness, innovative strength, and agility—qualities we can achieve only with fruitful international partnerships,” says Dr Karl Nowak.
