Challenge.

The Handelsblatt Media Group knew that a modern IT infrastructure could only be created if the media company left its outdated system landscape behind and transitioned to a uniform, fully cloud-based architecture. Instead of distributed solutions, a centralized approach was needed—clearly structured, consistently digital, and fully mapped in Microsoft Azure. However, this required rethinking processes, rebuilding systems, and intelligently connecting all relevant IT services. What was needed was modern device management, a coordinated system architecture, and a service desk that provided reliable support at all times. And most importantly, all employees had to be taken along on this journey into the new world.

Solution.

The Handelsblatt Media Group chose Bechtle as its strategic partner for the modernization of its IT infrastructure. The focus was on introducing a centralized, cloud-based architecture and setting up efficient IT services. As part of a managed services model, Bechtle supports the operation of the service desk as an extended workbench for the internal IT team, as well as the management of the ticket system and Azure and M365 services. A key project outcome was the development of a custom interface that connects the Handelsblatt Media Group's ticket system with Bechtle's in real time. Microsoft Intune was introduced for device management, including the professional packaging of around 40 applications, including industry-specific solutions. The provision was carried out on over 1,000 clients and up to 500 mobile devices. The project was managed by a professional project management team that defined clear structures, roles, and processes and coordinated implementation efficiently. In addition, change management was used to provide users with targeted information and training during the project. This ensured that the new cloud infrastructure was not only successfully introduced from a technical perspective, but also sustainably anchored within the company.
