Device as a Service.


The new approach of Device as a Service is designed to simplify as much as possible the deployment and administration of devices.


iPads, iPhones and MacBooks are every bit a part of a business's arsenal of tools as their Windows counterparts are, and have been for quite some time.

Bechtle's Device as a Service offers several different ways to greatly simplify the use of Apple products in your business. After receiving their device in its original packaging, users have nothing more to do than to turn it on, log in and transfer all policies, settings and required software. The setup takes care of itself automatically.

A nice touch: Not only is device management included in the package and the monthly rate, so is the hardware. You can easily and transparently calculate what the new hardware and management cost, and provide your employees with the latest products.


As soon as the users log into the network for the first time, the required information is immediately deployed on the new devices.

The setup then starts automatically and installs without any hiccups.

The software deployment is controlled by Apple's Volume Purchase Program. Apps for iOS and macOS are deployed centrally. The apps can then be assigned to an Apple ID or to a defined device. The second option doesn't require an Apple ID and the app can be assigned to end devices with multiple users (e.g. in the logistics center). You, as the company, always stay the owner of the app and can uninstall it from the device at any time, for example, if the employee uses a BYOD smartphone or leaves the company.

After setup, the device always stays under the control of your company's IT. This is a particularly important aspect when considering software updates, which can be centrally managed with Jamf Pro, so that you can effectively close the biggest gateways for hackers. It also includes standard functions such as forcing encryption or remotely locking and deleting the hard drive.
