Data centre infrastructure – Complete service for your data centre.
When it comes to the topic of data centres, many IT admins think of servers, storage, networks, and IT security. But a data centre is far more than just that. When our IT business architects design an IT solution for our customers, they think along the lines of “who makes sure that all doors are closed? And “how can we ensure uninterrupted power (UPS)?”
This is why Bechtle provides the data centre infrastructure – a complete service for your data centre. You can choose between managed data centre solutions and our colocation solution in our own data centre in Frankfurt. This data centre is securely run by our partner, e-shelter, in line with the GDPR.
Benefits of Bechtle colocation:
- Transparent costs
- Do away with the cost of your own data centre
- Simply rent the space your infrastructure needs
- Secured rack servers
- Highest security standards
- Fully-redundant IT architecture
- Bechtle complete service
Modernisation or into the cloud?
Very few companies can precisely calculate how much server or storage capacity they will need in one year. Expanding a data centre can also take up to six months before it’s completed. In this time, your IT requirements will very probably have changed once again. This is why many customers are choosing virtualisation options or expanding their data centres with a cloud to stay flexible. A large number of companies are opting for a hybrid cloud to get the best of both words.
The cloud and virtualisation – A question of licensing.
Moving to the cloud is not suitable for some applications, or requires a new licence. Some applications are calculated per server, for example, and not per VM. When you decide to virtualise such applications, you may quickly find yourself in violation of their licensing terms because now all of your users have access. That can mean fees are due to redress the situation. Your licensing tool must list where applications are and which end device this concerns.
It’s important to note that VDI applications are generally operated from dedicated servers in your own data centre, for example. The switch to cloud-based servers is not currently offered for licensing reasons.
