Challenge.

As a foodstuff, spirits are subject to extremely strict production regulations. That means that every single visitor to Bimmerle has to be logged, noting their arrival time, name and who received them. Previously an analogue process, Bimmerle was looking to digitalise the system as it was clear for the Black Forest-based company, that it not only comply had to with applicable laws, but that visitors to the distillery should be able to sense its innovative spirit from the moment they walk through the door.


Our digital visitor management system has already been complimented several times. Now, all our partners, visitors and customers have to do is enter their data directly on the tablet. Our corporate design and aspirations are reflected in the app, and best of all, it’s as practical, quick and easy as it is eye-catching. We’re delighted that, with Bechtle’s support, we have achieved what we set out to do.

Solution.

The first solution proposed was a combination of Microsoft Forms and Microsoft 365 Power Automate, which initially seemed to check all the boxes. However, Bimmerle wanted its branding to be visible right from login, which unfortunately wasn’t supported. Bechtle, therefore, developed a custom Power App that perfectly matched Bimmerle’s image—simple, sophisticated and practical. When guests arrive at reception, they simply enter their details into the tablet, which also displays the necessary safety information. The app was developed by Bechtle to match the company’s corporate identity and to centrally store all data in SharePoint. After just two days, Bechtle had successfully installed the new check-in system, which is now used in four locations at the headquarters in Sasbach and the production facility in Mösbach. The data collected are immediately available, perfectly documented for audits and filterable, making it easy to see how often a service technician has been on site or how people have visited the distillery. Best of all, Bimmerle can make any necessary adjustments itself without any in-depth IT expertise. Need to add some new fields? Not a problem. Everything works seamlessly with the existing Microsoft 365 Business Premium licences thanks to Power Platform and SharePoint, and so there are no additional costs to consider. Bechtle’s Power App experts’ extensive experience have set Bimmerle on course for future development, fully digitalising a previously analogue process, that has been customised to match the company’s CI and supports mandatory fields and configurable text options.
