Neckarsulm, 15 April 2025 – Bechtle AG is a Premium Sponsor of the Special Olympics State Games Baden-Württemberg taking place from 9 to 12 July 2025 in Heilbronn and Neckarsulm. Almost 1,100 athletes with intellectual and multiple disabilities from across the German state of Baden-Württemberg will compete in 17 different disciplines. Bechtle’s sponsorship of the event ties in seamlessly with the Group’s strategies and initiatives surrounding sustainability and diversity.
Bechtle AG is proud of its long-standing and varied commitment to its corporate social responsibility, which the company has underpinned with its CSR Guidelines, Sustainability Strategy 2030, and its group-wide Diversity Strategy. Since 2020, Bechtle has also been a signatory to Germany’s employer initiative for diversity, Charta der Vielfalt—a pledge to actively encourage diversity within its organisation.
The sponsorship of the Special Olympics BW, taking place near the company’s headquarters, is an expression of the way Bechtle continuously translates its strategies into concrete action. Just like the Special Olympics movement, Bechtle is guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. There is especially notable overlap with Bechtle’s own objectives in the SDGs of Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities. With the publication of its Diversity Strategy in early 2025, Bechtle has sharpened its focus on diversity and equal opportunity, defining four key dimensions—age, gender, social background, as well as physical and mental abilities.
“We firmly believe that diversity and equal opportunity have a lasting positive impact on our work environment. And with people coming from 109 countries, with a great variety of cultural backgrounds, and across three or even more generations, we can honestly say that diversity is an integral part of life at Bechtle,” says Antje Leminsky, COO, Bechtle AG. “We are very pleased to be able to contribute to giving the athletes coming to Heilbronn and Neckarsulm the visibility they deserve for their exceptional achievements and the joy they find in sports.”
Beate Slavetinsky, President of Special Olympics Baden-Württemberg, adds: “We are delighted to have Bechtle on board as a strong partner for the State Games. Bechtle shares our vision of an inclusive society in which people with intellectual disabilities can live self-determined lives and participate on an equal footing–in sport and far beyond. Together, we want to set a visible example of diversity, respect and togetherness with the Games.”
