As part of this collaboration, Bechtle provides IT support for all Volkswagen Group brands across Central Europe. More than 550 specialists keep IT running—remotely from two Service Operation Centres and on-site in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and the Czech Republic.

“We’re streamlining our portfolio, optimising processes and elevating our services—always aligned with Volkswagen Group’s objectives,” says Alexander Köhler, Managing Director, Bechtle Managed Services. With its flexible, scalable solutions, Bechtle supports around 245,000 employees and adapts quickly to changing demands. Staff can even choose whether their new workplace hardware is delivered to the office or their home.

Employees also have options for receiving their device, choosing between a personal handover on-site or quick collection at a service point. At the same time, Bechtle consolidated brand-specific remote support into a central structure—ensuring resources can be deployed where they’re needed most.

Optimised processes cut costs and reduce turnaround times while improving service quality and user satisfaction, for example, appointments are now booked entirely online, with a technician automatically assigned to ensure reliable service. Plus self-service portals make communication simple, fast and transparent—no callbacks, no queues.

Sustainability also plays a key role with an intelligent logistics concept reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting responsible IT operations. Near Volkswagen’s largest plant, Bechtle has built a modern logistics centre that supplies over 60,000 workplaces—cutting transport distances by more than half. What’s more, cargo bikes and electric vehicles further reduce emissions over the last mile.

Bechtle manages IT workplaces for six Volkswagen Group units—and since 2023, Škoda and Volkswagen Financial Services have joined the portfolio. Services cover the entire workplace lifecycle, including remote support, innovative self-service options and IT service points—known as IT Bars—for quick solutions and personal assistance from experienced professionals.
