Bechtle Multi Cloud Days 2026: Three Questions for Mathilde Bluteau, Vice President of Bechtle France: “Our customers need freedom of choice and tailored solutions.”
As part of the Bechtle Multi Cloud Days 2026, Michael Beilfuß spoke with Mathilde Bluteau, Vice President of Bechtle France, about cloud transformation in France and the growing importance of digital sovereignty in Europe.
How far has France come in transforming its IT landscape through cloud technologies?
Mathilde Bluteau: Digital sovereignty is increasingly becoming a driver of cloud transformation in Europe. In France, as in other European countries, political and economic initiatives are reinforcing the desire for greater digital independence. This demand is having an ever-greater influence on investment decisions and is becoming a key driver for cloud and AI projects. We’re seeing that companies and public institutions alike are looking for solutions that combine innovation, performance, and control.
What are some examples of such initiatives?
The enhanced collaboration between Microsoft and Mistral AI, which was finalized just recently, is a good example. Such investments help expand high-performance AI and cloud infrastructures in Europe and strengthen the continent’s technological competitiveness. At the same time, they demonstrate a clear commitment to further developing digital skills and innovation within Europe. I am convinced that we will see a noticeable transformation, particularly in the public sector. The growing awareness of digital sovereignty there will not be limited to France but will provide momentum for all of Europe.
What is the best approach for implementing cloud transformation for our customers?
Our customers need freedom of choice and tailored solutions. To successfully achieve digital sovereignty, we must thoroughly understand our customers’ needs. Every company has different operating conditions, priorities, and regulatory requirements. Our strength as the Bechtle Group lies in the fact that we offer our customers a broad digital ecosystem and a comprehensive portfolio. This allows them to choose the combination of cloud, AI, and infrastructure solutions that works best for them. Our goal is not to lock customers into a single approach, but to support them in building the optimal, future-proof architecture for their business objectives.
