Bechtle’s Munich IT System House receives award for most innovative virtualisation project.
Neckarsulm/Munich, 7 October 2010 — Microsoft and Citrix recognised four outstanding virtualisation projects at the Virtualization Partner Summit in Cologne. Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer and Ralph Haupter, Chairman of Microsoft Germany, presented Bechtle with the award for the most innovative project. Bechtle is a partner of Microsoft’s and Citrix’ V-Alliance, which aims to offer business customers virtualisation solutions from a single source — from servers to applications to desktops.
Bechtle’s winning project is an international collaboration for the customer Telefonica O² Germany GmbH. Besides innovation and the cost-cutting potential that was realised, the jury was impressed by the fast realisation, the positive effect on the environment, and the extensive collaboration both on a national and international scale.
Anne Langens, Technical Director of the Competence Centre for virtualisation of Bechtle’s IT system houses in Munich and Regensburg, accepted the award from Steve Ballmer and Ralph Haupter in Cologne.
“The winning project is exemplary for our technological expertise and we were also able to build on our work with Citrix XenDesktop, which we have begun as early as the Beta release. The award recognises the achievements of the entire Bechtle team and also confirms how customer projects can benefit from alliances between manufacturers and their partners”, says Anne Langens.
