After having successfully integrated both Viennese locations, Bechtle has now consolidated its position in the Austrian system house market under a single company name.
Neckarsulm/Vienna, 12 May 2010 – For nearly two years now, Madras Computer Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH and the former supportEDV GmbH have belonged to Bechtle AG. Now, integration into the Bechtle group is complete with the absorption of Madras into today's Bechtle GmbH, Vienna.
Robert Steininger, Managing Director
With the acquisition of Madras in July 2008, Bechtle AG got its foot in the door in the Austrian system house market. The acquisition of supportEDV soon followed in September of the same year and as soon as May 2009 was registered under the Bechtle company name. Since the merger, Robert Steininger has retained his position as managing director of the Viennese location. “Both companies with their diverging core businesses complement one another nicely. It is nevertheless important for us, going forward, to present ourselves as one unified entity, to make better use of synergies and to gain market awareness in the Austrian market under the same name.”
While Madras Computer focuses on system integration in the field of enterprise storage and backup, as well as security solutions, supportEDV specialises in IT infrastructure projects. Their clientele includes public sector organisations as well as small and medium-sized companies.
Staff remains untouched.
“For Madras' customers the only change is the company name and logo. All the contact persons remain the same. Even the location will remain the same for now,” explains Robert Steininger. The management team of Madras will assume the executive positions within the new Bechtle GmbH, Vienna. Job cuts are not foreseen.
Austrian market continues to grow.
With system houses in more than 50 locations, Bechtle has achieved unrivalled market coverage in Germany and Switzerland. The company's declared goal is a comparable network in Austria as well. Bechtle is a manufacturer-independent company that provides one-stop shopping for all the IT infrastructure and operation needs of its more than 56,000 predominantly small and medium-sized industrial, public sector and financial market customers. The Bechtle group has established itself in the Austrian trading segment with its affiliates Bechtle direct, ARP Datacon and Comsoft direct.
