Neckarsulm, 4 August 2020 – Bechtle’s 2019 Annual Report and its magazine Zukunftsstark have both received prestigious Red Dot Awards in the category Brands & Communication Design 2020. The jury of 24 international experts were impressed by the publications’ design quality and creative concept as well as their originality, layout, innovation, clarity and emotionality. Playing a decisive part in the win, communications agency, waf.berlin GmbH, has been supporting Bechtle with expertise and design service for a decade.
The Bechtle Annual Report 2019 and the integrated magazine Zukunftsstark focussing on the topic of security came out on top in the Brands & Communication Design 2020 category against 6,992 other publications. The Red Dot Awards has been a platform for designers and businesses to understand the quality of design for some 65 years. True to the motto “in search of good design and creativity”, a jury of designers, journalists and academics judge and evaluate the submissions within the framework of a comprehensive catalogue of criteria, bestowing the prestigious award to the best-designed brand and communications projects. The Bechtle publications stood out thanks to their creativity and design quality in the Communication Design category with the jury praising their form, ingenuity and impact.
“We are delighted that not one but two of our publications have been recognised at the Red Dot Awards. The award-winning Annual Report is the cornerstone of our financial communications and the Zukunftsstark magazine each year captures a topical issue in our industry, inviting readers to broaden their horizons through diverse articles. The topic this year is security. Both publications not only represent our quality standards, but also the outstanding collaboration with our agency, waf.berlin, plus our Investor Relations and Corporate Communications teams”, says Dr Thomas Olemotz, CEO, Bechtle AG.
waf.berlin GmbH is an independent and owner-operated communications agency that ideates, designs and continuously develops both the Bechtle Annual Report and Zukunftsstark magazine. Both are published at the same time once a year and are targeted at a heterogeneous group of readers. waf.berlin is also responsible for the design of the Bechtle update customer magazine, which last year won silver at the International Creative Media Awards and was also honoured by the German Designer Club.
With over 18,000 submissions, the Red Dot Awards is the world’s largest design competition launched in 1955 to judge the best designs of the day, with Red Dot CEO, Professor Peter Zec developing the name and brand in the 1990s. The coveted Red Dot has since become a globally recognised testament of outstanding design quality.
“I’d like to congratulate the Red Dot Award winners on their success. This award is recognition of their high-quality design standards. They have come out on top against a group of strong, international participants and they should be very proud of their performance,” says Professor Peter Zec, initiator and CEO, Red Dot.
The winning submissions will receive exceptional visibility from October 2020 when all award-winning brands and projects are published on the Red Dot website. The International Yearbook Brands & Communication Design 2020/2021 will be published in November 2020.
