A quantum leap in security – Quantum-safe IT.
Quantum computing and artificial intelligence are changing the rules of the game.
Encryption methods that are secure today may be vulnerable tomorrow. Our whitepaper explores how to future-proof your cryptographic systems, plan a strategic transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC), and take meaningful steps towards crypto agility.
Don’t wait until your data is exposed.
The threat is no longer theoretical. Attackers can intercept encrypted data now, store it, and decrypt it later using quantum computers. This risk affects every organisation that handles sensitive customer information—not just those operating critical infrastructure, and acting early gives you a decisive edge in security.
What does this mean for your business? As quantum threats become more tangible, organisations face new challenges across IT, compliance and leadership. Long-term data storage becomes riskier, and the effort required to analyse and migrate existing systems continues to grow.
What you’ll gain from our whitepaper:
- A clear understanding of how quantum computing threatens today’s encryption standards
- Practical ways to strengthen your organisation’s response to emerging threats
- Insight into PQC algorithms that are already ready for deployment
- Guidance on building and prioritising a crypto inventory
- An overview of quantum-resistant solutions available from Bechtle

Is your organisation at risk?
The threat posed by quantum computing affects any organisation that relies on digital communication, data processing or connected systems—regardless of industry or size. Among those particularly at risk are:
Operators of critical infrastructure
Public administration
Industrial manufacturers and engineering firms
Cloud and software providers
Businesses that manage sensitive customer data
If your systems process, transmit or store data, your organisation is at risk.

Bechtle Quantum.
The Quantum Technologies Competence Centre at Bechtle’s Bonn IT system house offers customers a comprehensive portfolio of services in pioneering fields that are set to transform the IT landscape. Alongside securing IT systems with quantum-resistant solutions, the focus is on enabling the fast and effective deployment of emerging quantum technologies in customer-specific environments.
The offering includes secure cloud-based access to all relevant—and technologically promising—quantum computers, the distribution of quantum hardware, and expert guidance for getting started with quantum computing services. Bechtle also supports the establishment of these services and, where needed, takes on full IT processes and operations. The goal is to seamlessly integrate new technologies into existing workflows—not just within IT. To achieve this, the team has extended existing partnerships into the quantum space and forged new collaborations with leading manufacturers, start-ups and service providers. These relationships are being actively and sustainably developed.
Reference project:
Launched in 2024, the joint project with the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU, Department of Mathematics – Optimisation Group) sees Bechtle’s Bonn IT system house providing cloud-based quantum computing resources via IQM Resonance and AWS Braket. The Bechtle expert team advises on technology selection for various algorithms, supports onboarding to the platforms and access points, and guides the customer through real-world use cases involving optimisation challenges and benchmarking.
With more than 740 employees across multiple locations—including Berlin, Mainz and Koblenz—Bechtle’s Bonn IT system house also hosts dedicated competence centres in areas such as Public Cloud, Cisco, Data Centre, Information Security, SAP and Virtualisation. In 2024, the company generated revenues of around 456.1 million euros.
